This sugar scrub is completely spa-worthy! It helps exfoliate and moisturize your skin while melting away the stress of the day. The aroma of lavender and mint are both known to be great stress relievers on their own, but when combined together they create the ultimate way to unwind.
The ingredients were carefully selected to help improve the overall health of your skin, while at the same time being simple enough to throw together in a pinch.
In a bowl or container, crush the lavender buds and sugar together to release the fragrance.
Melt the coconut oil. (I popped it in the microwave for 5 seconds, you don’t want to heat it, just liquefy it)
Combine all the oils and stir to combine.
Makes about 1 & 1/8 cup of sugar scrub.
Peppermint Oil: Relieves muscle tension, improves mental focus, and has antimicrobial properties
Lavender: Reduces anxiety, anti-inflammatory properties, and has been proven to reduce stress
Grapeseed Oil: Packed with antioxidants, mild astringent qualities, and is great for sensitive skin
Coconut Oil: Hydrates, is rich in nutrients, and is an anti-microbial/bacterial/fungal
Glycerin: Improves the appearance of skin, has toning properties, and helps maintain the skins water-balance
Tea Tree Oil: helps relieve pain, has natural antiseptic properties, and promotes blood flow
The peppermint is the prominent initial scent of this scrub. I found the lavender aroma comes into play once you begin to rinse the scrub off. I actually really liked how the fragrance ended up “changing” because it kept the strong scents from competing with each other.
